Dr. Hatim Zaghloul
Dr. Hatim Zaghloul’s work on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) revolutionized telecommunications, laying the groundwork for high-speed internet, 4G, and even the foundation for today’s 5G networks. OFDM, a digital modulation technique, splits a signal into multiple sub-signals transmitted over separate frequencies. This approach dramatically improves data efficiency, speed, and reliability, especially in environments with obstacles and interference.
Zaghloul’s invention allowed telecom providers to transmit data at higher speeds and with greater stability, crucial for modern uses like high-definition video streaming, real-time video calls, and the Internet of Things (IoT). OFDM is not just a powerful tool in telecommunications but also in AI, as it enables faster, more reliable data transfer, vital for applications such as machine learning and real-time data analysis. Thanks to Dr. Zaghloul, OFDM has made it possible for people around the world to connect seamlessly, advancing communications across borders and technologies
